SAN DIEGO -- A former Aztec joined a couple of current Aztec teams in hitting a walkoff on Sunday.

This week, he batted .214 with a .267 on-base percentage, an RBI and a run scored. He currently leads all of baseball with 135 plate appearances and 30 games played. Just like the Aztec baseball and softball teams, France hit a walkoff on Sunday with an RBI single in the 10th inning against Tampa Bay to give the Mariners a 2-1 victory. On the season, he is batting .311 with a .381 on-base percentage, five homers, 22 RBIs and 13 runs scored. Pitcher Stephen Strasburg (2008-09) remains on the 10-Day IL for Washington. Outfielder Greg Allen (2012-14) is spending at least the first two months of the season on the 60-Day IL for Pittsburgh.

On the PGA Tour, Scott Piercy (1999-2001) tied for 37th in the Wells Fargo Championship at 4-over-par. Xander Schauffele (2013-15) is ranked 12th in the world and 22nd in the FedEx Cup and J.J.
