SAN DIEGO – San Diego State Football were able to get a first glimpse of their new home, SnapDragon Stadium, on Wednesday.

The Aztecs, who will be celebrating their 100th season this fall, were able to tour multiple areas of the stadium. The student-athletes were able to see places such as the tunnel that they will run out through on game days, the piers, sponsored by Sycuan, the view from both end zones, as well as where the student section will be.

"It truly blew my mind" senior linebacker Caden McDonald said. "It's going to be awesome, 35,000 people are going to be in there. I really like how they had the student section in the front row, to be able to interact with the team. It's going to be really special."

"It was beautiful, just an incredible venue" senior wide receiver Jesse Matthews said. "Walking through the tunnel, I got chills. Walking on to the field and seeing it all come together was really special."

San Diego State finished the 2021 season ranked 25th in the final Associated Press Top 25 poll with a 12-2 record. Playing in its 99th season of football, SDSU had a school-record 12 victories and was one of just 10 programs nationally with at least 12 victories. Only four teams had more wins than the Aztecs, including national champion Georgia, and CFP teams Alabama and Cincinnati. San Diego State played five teams who reached double-digit victories on the season, securing wins over Pac-12 Champion/Rose Bowl participant Utah (10-4), UTSA (12-2) and Air Force (10-3).
