Aztecs Wrap Up Busy Day Of Competition

SAN DIEGO – The Aztec track and field team wrapped up their third of four days of competition this week at the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Mt. Sac Relays. The Aztecs set three top 10 all-time rankings throughout the day.

The Aztecs started the day at the Mt. Sac Relays, where Jada Moore competed in the 100m dash. She ran 11.65 and finished fourth in her heat. Danae Dyer then took part in the 100m hurdles, where she finished in 13.80 and finished third in her heat. 

Sakura Roberson continued her ascendance up the top 10 all-time list in the 400m run on Friday afternoon. The senior, and graduate of La Jolla HS, ran 53.35, good for ninth fastest all-time in SDSU history. Jalyn Harris also set a new PR in the event, running 54.19 to place fifth in her heat.

As for the distance crew, there were two athletes who put themselves into the top 10 all-time in the 1500m run. Both Lauren Harper and Emily Burd were involved in the 1500m invitational heats. They each set PR's and put themselves in the record book. Burd finished in 4:30.06 in the third heat of the invitational, which is good for eighth best on the all-time list. Harper, fresh off her top 10 all-time performance in the 800m last night, posted another top 10 time in heat five, running 4:31.60, which is 10th best all-time. 

The Aztecs will wrap up the week of competition at the Beach Invitational tomorrow. There will be live results available on finishedresults.com
