San Diego State Softball Set for Home Series with Boise State
San Diego State returns home for a weekend series with Boise State at SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs (27-11, 11-1 MW) and the Broncos (27-8, 6-3 MW) are set to play games at 6 p.m. PT Thursday, 6 p.m. PT Friday and noon PT Saturday.

All three games will be broadcast on Mountain West Network (links will be available on GoAztecs.com).

SDSU, which moved up a spot to 24th in the latest D1Softball rankings, is coming off a series victory at UNLV, which along with San Diego State were the preseason picks to win the league. SDSU has won all four of its MW series and has won 13 of its last 14 games. 

The Aztecs started 10-0 in MW play, their second-best league start in program history. 

Mac Barbara is leads SDSU in most offensive categories, including batting average (.414, T-54th in NCAA), hits (48, tied, T-34th in NCAA), doubles (9), home runs (13, T-21st in NCAA), RBIs (46, T-8th in NCAA), total bases (98, T-13th in NCAA), slugging percentage (.845, 27th in NCAA), walks (23, T-62nd in NCAA) and on-base percentage (.507, 54th in NCAA). 

Bella Espinoza is hitting .400 and tops San Diego State in hits (48, tied, T-34th in NCAA) and stolen bases (10), while Jillian Celis (.346, 20 RBI, 25 R, 7 2B, 4 3B) and Makena Brocki (.300, 1 HR, 13 RBI, 12 R, 2 2B, 3 3B) are also hitting at least .300.

Maggie Balint (13-4, 1.43 ERA, 4 SV, .173 opp. avg.) has won seven of a possible nine MW Pitcher-of-the-Week awards, and is tied for fifth the country in saves (4), eighth in strikeouts (195), 14th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (7.80), 15th in strikeouts per seven innings (10.72), 28th in ERA (1.43), 34th in hits allowed per seven innings (4.34) and tied for 40th in victories (13).

Dee Dee Hernandez (7-3, 1.87 ERA, 3 SV, 52 K, 8 BB) has pitched 63 2/3 innings, while Dani Martinez (4-2, 3.75 ERA, 26 K, 5 BB, 37.1 IP) and Allie Light (3-2, 4.08 ERA, 37 K, 11 BB, 34.1 IP) have also logged innings in the circle.
