FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Five Aztecs competed in the 3-meter springboard event at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships at Wall Aquatic Center on the campus of Northern Arizona University on Tuesday and Ximena Lechuga Gonzalez and Valentina Lopez Arevalo were among the 18 competitors who made the final.
 
Lopez Arevalo finished sixth in the prelims, with a score of 313.35, and Lechuga Gonzalez was the final qualifier with a total of 277.00.
 
Lechuga Gonzalez, a senior out of Tijuana, Mexico, moved up two spots and finished in 16th with a total score of 580.05. A Zapopan, Jalisco native and freshman, Lopez Arevalo was 13th at the conclusion of the final with a 592.10 total.
 
Freshman Emma Duggan finished the prelims in 27th place with a score of 251.10. Jules Harrison, a sophomore, was 40th with a 234.70 and senior Lexi Letts totaled 299.05 and was 42nd.
 
The Championships conclude on Wednesday with the platform competition. The action gets underway at 11:30 a.m. MT with the prelims and the finals to immediately follow. Links for streaming video and live results are on the swimming and diving schedule page at www.goaztecs.com.
