SAN DIEGO – After opening the 2022 season with 10 consecutive road contests, the No. 21-ranked San Diego State water polo team returns to the Aztecs Aquaplex for its next six games starting with when it hosts No. 19 Princeton and No. 25 CSUN in the Aztec Mini Invite I on Sunday.

Inside the Matchup (CSUN)
• In the all-time series, the Aztecs hold a 17-4 advantage, including a 6-1 lead in games played in the Aztecs home pool. While this will be the eighth meeting in San Diego, it will be the first since March 18, 2012. In the Aztecs wins at home they have outscored the Matadors by an average of just over 6 goals per game and its lone loss, SDSU was beaten by a score of 9-10.
• CSUN has an 8-6 record this season and competes in the Big West Conference. It is 0-2 in league play and sits in seventh place.
• Head coach Carin Crawford, who took over the San Diego State program in 1999, has been on the pool deck for every game in the series with the Matadors.

• In the all-time series, the Aztecs hold a 13-7 advantage, including a 6-5 lead in games played in San Diego. The Aztecs took the first 13 meetings but have not beaten the Tigers since March 17, 2013.
• Princeton has an overall record of 13-2, 6-0 in the College Water Polo Association and is in first place.
• Head coach Carin Crawford, who took over the San Diego State program in 1999, has been on the pool deck for all but one game in the series with the Tiger.
