Aztec Softball Set for Three-Game Series at Fresno State This Weekend
The San Diego State softball team continues Mountain West play this weekend with a three-game series at Fresno State. The Aztecs (19-10, 3-0 MW), who have won a season-long five consecutive games, and the Bulldogs (6-21, 0-3 MW) will play at 6 p.m. PT Friday, 3 p.m. PT Saturday and noon PT Sunday.

All three games will be broadcast on Mountain West Network (links will be available on GoAztecs.com).

SDSU is coming off a series sweep over Colorado State by a combined score of 21-2. San Diego State beat the Rams, 6-2, and 2-0 on Saturday, and 13-0 in five innings on Sunday.

Two Aztecs - Mac Barbara (5-for-5, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 4 BB, 1.000 OB%) and Bella Espinoza (6-for-10, 5 R, 3 SB) - were named the MW Player and Freshman of the Week, respectively, on Tuesday.

On the season, Barbara leads the team in batting average (.422), home runs (12), RBIs (40), hits (38), doubles (8), total bases (84), walks (15), slugging percentage (.933) and on-base percentage (.500). Among the NCAA leaders, Barbara ranks in a tie for third in RBIs (40), tied for fourth in home runs (12), fifth in total bases (84), 13th in slugging percentage (.933) and tied for 17th in hits (38). 

Espinoza, meanwhile, is hitting .409 (36-for-88) and leads SDSU in runs (23) and stolen bases (10). Jillian Celis (.354, 20 R, 16 RBI, 6 2B, 4 3B) and Makena Brocki (.320) are also hitting over .300 for San Diego State.

Maggie Balint (9-4, 1.51 ERA, 1 SV, .170 opp. avg.) ranks sixth in the country in strikeouts (141), 14th in strikeouts per seven innings (11.2) and 16th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (9.40), and has been named the MW Pitcher of the Week in four of six chances this season. Freshman Dee Dee Hernandez (4-3, 1.75 ERA, 3 SV) also has impressed in her first season, while Allie Light (3-1, 2.86 ERA, 1 SV) and Dani Martinez (3-2, 4.15 ERA) have also logged innings in the circle for the Aztecs.
