SAN JOSE, Calif. – Due to persistent rain, San Diego State's baseball game at San José State was suspended in the bottom of the third inning on Saturday with the Aztecs trailing by a 4-2 count at Excite Ballpark.

The contest will resume on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. to be immediately followed by the regularly scheduled series finale. SJSU has announced that tickets purchased on Saturday will be good for both games on Sunday.

Trailing 2-0, the Aztecs loaded the bases in the top of the third when Tyler Glowacki and Brian Leonhardt drew a pair of walks sandwiched around an Irvin Weems bunt single. Moments later, Tino Bethancourt drove in Glowacki and Weems with a base hit up the middle, tying the score at 2-2.

However, the Spartans reclaimed a 4-2 advantage in the bottom of the frame on Theo Hardy's two-run triple.

Following Sunday's action, the Aztecs will travel across town to battle UC San Diego in the newly dubbed "Trolley Series" at Triton Ballpark in La Jolla. Game time is set for 6 p.m. PT.

SDSU returns to Mountain West competition next weekend when it plays host to Fresno State in a three-game series, March 25-27, at Tony Gwynn Stadium.
