SAN DIEGO – San Diego State track and field will be in action this weekend at the Ross and Sharon Irwin Invitational, held locally in Point Loma, Calif. The Aztecs will only be sending the pole vault squad to the event.
The five athletes who will represent SDSU at the Ross and Sharon Irwin Invitational includes a decorated list of all-conference award winners from the recently completed indoor season. The top three from the Mountain West Indoor pole vault competition will all be competing for the Aztecs.
Corey Friedenbach finished in a tie for third at the conference indoor championships and will take part in the meet this weekend, as will runner-up and local San Diego native Ashley Callahan. Additionally, the winner of the conference indoor meet, Kaitlin Heri will be involved for the Aztecs. Elizabeth Funk and Madison Martin round out the five Aztecs competing this week, and will also be looking for a chance on the podium in the event.
