SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State Athletics has surpassed 10,000 season tickets sold for the upcoming 2022 football season according to Director of Athletics John David Wicker. Sales began in September 2020 coinciding with the opening of the Snapdragon Stadium Experience Center located in Mission Valley.
To date Founders Suites, Luxury Suites, Loge Boxes and the 800-plus person West Club are sold out. Club Seating, meanwhile, is 75 percent sold and is expected to sell out before the 2022 opener with Arizona on Sept. 3. Season tickets are still available in the Field Club featuring a 50-yard line player's tunnel and the East Club.
Priority and Reserved Seats were released in October 2021 and certain seating options are already beginning to sell thru. Priority and Reserved Seats have access to great social gathering areas along the east and north concourse as well as local restaurant partners like The Crack Shack, Hodad's, The Taco Stand, Cali BBQ, Everbowl, Best Pizza and Brew, Batch & Box, and Gaglione Brothers.
"The San Diego community has really rallied around our project, and we've only scratched the surface with some of the marketing campaigns we have planned," Wicker said. "As we've said since day one, alumni and fans are understanding that we have a price point and seating fit for everyone. The gameday experience is going to be one of the best in the country, and we have unbelievable local and national partners helping bring this vision to life."
"Our goal has always been to create a homefield advantage that is among the best in college football," San Diego State Executive Associate Athletic Director Mission Valley Development Derek Grice said. "Already surpassing 10,000 season tickets shows that the San Diego community wants to be a part of something special. With amazing sight lines and an incredible gameday atmosphere, we think we have created something that all San Diegans can be proud of."
San Diego State finished the 2021 season ranked 25th in the final Associated Press Top 25 poll with a 12-2 record. Playing in its 99th season of football, SDSU had a school-record 12 victories and was one of just 10 programs nationally with at least 12 victories. Only four teams had more wins than the Aztecs, including national champion Georgia, and CFP teams Alabama and Cincinnati. San Diego State played five teams who reached double-digit victories on the season, securing wins over Pac-12 Champion/Rose Bowl participant Utah (10-4), UTSA (12-2) and Air Force (10-3).
Season-ticket member benefits include merchandise discounts at the SDSU Bookstore, preferred single-game ticket access and pricing, priority to purchase on-site parking, and priority to other stadium events when available. Interest-free monthly payment plan options are intended to make the commitment as affordable as possible with season tickets starting as low as $35 per game.
