SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's basketball team (10-12, 4-7) hosts Nevada (15-7, 7-3) Wednesday at 11 a.m. for SDSU's annual Field Trip Day.
 
Aztec Tidbits
• The Wolf Pack knocked off the Aztecs 58-46 three weeks ago (Jan. 19), holding SDSU to their lowest point total of the year.
• Nevada is third in the Mountain West with a 7-3 record but is sixth in the NET rankings (152) and just seven spots above the Aztecs (159).
• SDSU split their road trip last week, winning at Utah State 68-67 behind 27 points from Sophia Ramos and a last second bucket from Mercedes Staples, and then falling at Boise State 72-63.
• The Broncos shot 49.1 percent from the field, the highest FG% the Aztecs have allowed this season. 40 of BSU's points came in the paint.
• Against Boise State, Khylee-Jade Pepe had a career-high 10 rebounds at Boise State Saturday with seven coming on offense. She also had career-highs in steals (3), field goals (3) and minutes (21).
• Ramos (San Antonio, Texas) has scored 20 or more points in three consecutive games while averaging 24.7 points and 4.7 assists per game in that span.
• After struggling from the line early in the year, Ramos is 19-for-20 (.950) over her last three games.
• Ramos surpassed 1,400 points last week, becoming the eighth Aztec to reach that mark. She is one of three active four-year players with career totals of at least 1,400 points, 500 rebounds, 350 assists and 150 steals (Ohio's Erica Johnson & Florida's Kiara Smith). She is currently in the top 10 in program history in seven statistical categories, including assists (6th), made threes (6th), made free throws (7th) and points (8th) and three-point percentage (10th).
• Ramos is second in the conference in steals per game (2.1) and minutes per game (36.91) and is in the top 100 nationally in seven statistical categories.
• Mallory Adams (Frisco, Texas) is averaging 13.7 points and 8.1 rebounds in conference games and is making 2.9 three-pointers per game in MW play, the most in the Mountain West.
• Adams reached the 800 point and 500 rebound plateau at Utah State last Wednesday.
• Asia Avinger (Cerritos, Calif.) is one of three freshmen in the nation to average at least 12.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. (Notre Dame's Olivia Miles & Pacific's Anaya James). Avinger leads all Mountain West freshmen in scoring and assists.
• SDSU has three active players in the top 10 all-time in career three-point percentage. Mercedes Staples (Centerville, Utah) is fourth at 36.7 percent (55-150), Isabela Hernandez is eighth (35.6%, 58-163) and Sophia Ramos is 10th (35.3%, 141-399).
• The Aztecs are third in the MW in opponent field goal percentage (.385) and opponent three-point percentage (.302).
 
Opponent Notebook (Nevada)
• The Wolf Pack are 15-7 and 7-3 in conference.
• They are just 5-4 on the road and 10-3 at home.
• They had home wins against San Jose State (88-63) and Fresno State (66-67) last week.
• They have a NET ranking of 152, sixth in the Mountain West. The Aztecs are seventh at 159.
• They are 10th in the nation in free throw percentage (.786) but attempt just 12.0 a game (265th).
• They commit just 12.6 turnovers per game and have the second best turnover margin in the conference (+5.09).
• Kylie Jimenez, the preseason Mountain West Newcomer of the Year, has the best assist-to-turnover ratio in the nation (3.81).
• Audrey Roden is shooting 40.0 percent from three and has a team-high 40 made threes.
• Da'Ja Hamilton leads the team with 13.5 points per game.
• Head coach Amanda Levens (5th season) helped lead Nevada to a first round bye in last year's Mountain West Tournament after being picked to finish 10th in the preseason poll.
 
Series Notes
• Nevada leads the all-time series 13-12 and 10-9 since Nevada joined the Mountain West.
• The Aztecs are 8-2 all-time against the Wolf Pack in San Diego.
• SDSU has won their last four games against Nevada at home and six of their last seven.
• The teams split their two meetings last year, which were both played in Reno. The Aztecs won the first one 59-43 before falling 66-59. Tea Adams averaged 18.0 points in those games.
• Neither team has ever won more than three in a row in the all-time series. Nevada has won the last three.
• Their first meeting was Jan. 2, 1984, a 90-44 Aztec win. Their next meeting wasn't until 2003.
