SAN DIEGO – Lauren Dobashi, San Diego State's head women's golf coach, has announced the signing of Stina Wikström, a transfer from Limestone University (Gaffney, S.C.). Wikström, a native of Gustafs, Sweden, will join the Aztecs for the 2022-23 season.

"We are so excited to welcome Stina to the Aztec Family, Dobashi said. "She has had a lot of success at Limestone, and we are confident that Stina will make an immediate impact on our team. She has great energy, and her positivity is contagious. We cannot wait for her to arrive next fall."

As a sophomore this past fall, Wikström played in five tournaments and finished in the top ten four times and top five on three occasions. She ended the fall season by winning the Flagler Fall Slam at Marsh Creek Country Club (St. Augustine, Fla.). She also had a runner-up finish at the Savannah Lakes Invitational where she shot a five-under-par.

In the fall, she had a scoring average of 72.54 and finished an even par or better in nine of her 13 rounds.

As a freshman Wikström helped Limestone win the 2021 NCAA DII National Championship by tying for third overall (219; 76-72-72). Individually, she was named to the WGCA Division II All-America Second Team and earned the South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the Year award. She was also named to the All-South Atlantic Conference First Team and to the South Atlantic Conference All-Tournament Second Team.

In 2020-21, she had a scoring average of 74.61 and earned seven top-10 finishes and was top-5 three times in nine tournaments played. She began her collegiate career by winning the Flagler Fall Slam (144; 73, 71) and the Savannah Lakes Invitational (147; 74, 73).
