SAN DIEGO -- The season came to a conclusion for the last two former Aztec players in the NFL, but a coach continues on.

Offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill (2013-16) started for San Francisco and once again, played all 51 snaps on offense and three snaps on special teams in their NFC Championship Game loss to Los Angeles, whose offensive coordinator is former Aztec quarterback Kevin O'Connell (2004-07). Brunskill played in all of the 49ers' offensive snaps in the playoffs and missed just five during the regular season, for a total of 99.6 percent of the snaps (1256-of-1261) on offense for the season, while starting every game. Defensive lineman Alex Barrett (2013-16) is on San Francisco's practice squad and did not appear in the loss.

In the NBA, guard Malachi Flynn (2020) appeared in a pair of games for Toronto highlighted by an 11-point performance in Tuesday's win over Charlotte. During those games, he averaged 7.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 0.5 steals. On the season, he is averaging 3.1 points, 1.1 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 0.4 steals, and 0.1 blocks. Charlotte forward Jalen McDaniels (2018-19) missed the week with an ankle injury. So far this season, he is averaging 6.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game. Forward Kawhi Leonard (2010-11) is on the Los Angeles Clippers, but is sitting out while recovering from a torn ACL suffered during last season's playoffs.

On the PGA Tour, Xander Schauffele (2013-15) and J.J. Spaun (2009-12) tied for 34th at 7-under-par in the Farmers Insurance Open. Scott Piercy (1999-2001) finished in 76th in the event at 4-over-par.
