SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women's tennis team looks to continue its best start since 2019 on Saturday when the Aztecs play host to UC San Diego at the Aztec Tennis Center. Match time is set for noon PT and admission is free.

San Diego State opened the 2022 campaign in fine form last weekend, posting victories over Sacramento State, 6-1, and UC Riverside, 4-0. To date, the Aztecs have won eight of their nine singles matches and have claimed the doubles point in both matches this season.

Following the strong play to open the season, the Mountain West Conference announced that senior Tamara Arnold was named conference player of the week. Arnold had a sensational first weekend, posting a pair of straight set singles victories to go along with a 2-0 mark in doubles action.

Joining Arnold in the undefeated category with four total matches played to date is senior Nnena Nadozie. She recorded victories at number three and number two singles last week, while teaming up with Alicia Melosch for a pair of doubles victories.

The Tritons are 1-2 this season and are fresh off a 5-2 victory over Sacramento State last Saturday.

Saturday's contest concludes a three-match homestand to open the San Diego State season. Following the matchup with the Tritons, SDSU will next play at home Friday, Feb. 11 against Long Beach State.
