SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State University swimming & diving team, by virtue of its 3.28 team GPA, has been honored by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as a Scholar America Team. The announcement came from the CSCAA's office in Richmond, Va.

Greg Earhart, CSCAA Executive Director highlighted San Diego State's achievements noting, "Coach Shrader demonstrates that a team can be successful in the pool and the classroom. These 30 women are some of the best ambassadors that San Diego State and the Mountain West could ask for."

To be eligible, teams must possess a collective 3.0 grade point average for the fall semester. The CSCAA recognized 728 teams (both men and women) from 450 different institutions.

With a perfect 14-0 record in dual meets, two Mountain West Swimmer of the Week, a Freshman of the Week and a Diver of the Week award this season, the Aztecs are preparing for their Senior Day meet, a dual against San Diego on Friday, Jan. 28. The Aztec divers will head to the NAU Diving Invitational on Feb. 3-5 in Flagstaff, Ariz., and the entire team will return to Northern Arizona on Feb. 16-19 for the Mountain West Championships.
