Women’s Tennis Opens Spring with Pair of Home Matches

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women's tennis team is set to open the 2022 campaign with a pair of home matches this week. The Aztecs play host to Sacramento State on Friday at 2 p.m. PT and follow that up with a match against UC Riverside on Saturday at noon PT. Both matches will be played at the Aztec Tennis Center and are open to fans.

The competitions this week are part of a three-match homestand to open the season. SDSU will close out the stretch with a match against UC San Diego on Sat, Jan. 29.

The Aztecs have won their most recent match with the Hornets, a 7-0 decision on Jan. 20, 2019. SDSU is playing the Highlanders for the fourth time in five seasons and posted a 7-0 victory over UC Riverside on Jan. 25, 2020.

The 2022 squad features a veteran team with six seniors - Tamara Arnold, Alicia Melosch, Cécile Morin, Nnena Nadozie, Regina Pitts, Agustina Rimoldi Godoy and Bunyawi Thamchaiwat - on the roster.
