SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State's football game at UNLV, originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 20, has been moved up a day to Friday, Nov. 19, the Mountain West announced Monday. The Aztecs and Rebels will now play at 8:30 p.m. PT on Nov. 19 on CBS Sports Network.
The 8:30 p.m. PT start is the latest announced local starting time for a SDSU game since an announced 8:30 p.m. MT start at No. 19/14 Boise State on Nov. 3, 2012. San Diego State beat the Broncos, 21-19, in that game.
The Aztecs are now scheduled to play three Friday games for the 2021 season, including Oct. 5 at San José State (7:30 p.m. PT), Nov. 19 at UNLV (8:30 p.m. PT) and Nov. 26 against Boise State (9 a.m. PT) at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif.
The only two regular-season games without a start time are Oct. 9 against New Mexico and Nov. 6 at Hawai'i, which will both be broadcast on either FOX, FS1 or FS2. The start times for those games likely will be announced 12 days prior to each contest.
SDSU finished 4-4 last year with its four losses coming to teams that went a combined 29-6 (.829).
San Diego State will play seven of its 12 games in 2021 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif., and will have only one road contest over the first six weeks of the season. The 2021 home slate features high-profile games against Utah, Boise State, Fresno State and Nevada. Five of the six FBS opponents that the Aztecs will play host to this season finished the 2020 campaign with a .500 or better record. SDSU opens 2021 at Dignity Health Sports Park on Saturday, Sept. 4 against New Mexico State.
