SAN DIEGO – The Aztecs (6-5) host Wyoming (4-5) Tuesday at 1 p.m. for their Mountain West opener. The game will be streamed on the Mountain West Network with Chris Ello on the call.
 
Aztec Tidbits
• On Dec. 21, SDSU fell to No. 24/24 Ohio State 66-54, holding the high-powered Buckeyes 21 points below their season average. It was the first time a ranked team had played at Viejas Arena since Nov. 23, 2013 (No. 19/14 South Carolina).
• The Aztecs went 6-5 in non-conference play, their first time having a winning record in OOC play since the 2017-18 season.
• In her Aztec career, Mercedes Staples (Centerville, Utah) is making 39.0 percent (48-123) of her threes, the second best in school history (minimum 100 attempts).
• SDSU has three active players in the top seven all-time in career three-point percentage. Staples leads the way at 39.0 percent, Isabela Hernandez is fifth (37.7%, 50-133) and Sophia Ramos is seventh (35.8%, 120-335).
• Sophia Ramos (San Antonio, Texas) is one of five active players in the nation with at least 1,200 points, 400 rebounds, 300 assists and 100 steals in her career while playing in less than 100 games.
• Ramos has scored 20 or more points 17 times and has been in double-digits 71 times (in 87 games). With 1,252 points in her career, she is 15th all-time in scoring and with five points vs. Wyoming, she will pass former Aztec All-American Tina Hutchinson (1984-85), who still holds the NCAA record for most points in a single-season by a freshman
• SDSU is shooting 36.1 percent from three. That is second in conference and is the 33rd highest percentage in the nation.
• The Aztecs are 5-1 when scoring at least 60 points and 1-5 when they don't.
• SDSU has held their opponent under 40 percent shooting six times, going 5-1 in those games.
• The Aztecs officially joined the Jordan Brand family this season, becoming just the ninth women's basketball program in the Jordan lineup.
 
Opponent Notebook (Wyoming)
• The Cowgirls are 4-5 on the year.
• They are 1-3 on the road.
• They commit the 11th fewest turnovers per game (11.8) and second fewest fouls (11.2).
• Tommi Olsen has the best assist-to-turnover ratio in the country (4.83). She has 29 assists and just six turnovers.
• McKinley Bradshaw leads the team with 13.2 points per game.
• Quinn Weidemann and Ola Ustowska are both shooting 45.5 percent from three, however the Cowgirls shoot just 28.7 percent from deep as a team.
• Allyson Fertig scores 9.9 points per game on 50.7 shooting while playing just 14.6 minutes per game.
• Head coach Gerald Mattison is in his third season as head coach, but was on the Wyoming staff for 16 years before being elevated to head coach duties.

• Wyoming leads the all-time series 33-29.
• The Aztecs are 17-9 against the Cowgirls at home.
• Wyoming has won six of the last seven meetings.
• The Aztecs have scored a combined 77 points in their last two games against the Cowgirls.
