SAN DIEGO -- It was a week of returns among former Aztecs with offensive lineman Jacob Capra (2019-20) elevated off the practice squad, Calvin Munson (2013-16) coming back off the bye, and Jordan Schakel (2018-21) getting brought up to the NBA.

In the NFL, running back Rashaad Penny (2014-17) started and rushed 11 times for 39 yards (3.5 avg.) against the Los Angeles Rams in a game that was postponed until Tuesday night. He also caught both his targets for five yards (2.5 avg.). Penny played 24 snaps on offense. It was a night of hot starts for Penny, who ran for 10 yards on Seattle's first play from scrimmage and started off the second half with consecutive carries of seven, six, and nine yards, although his 9-yard carry was called back due to a penalty. Next week, the Seahawks will face the Chicago Bears. S

afety Damontae Kazee (2013-16) started and was on the field for 55 defensive and five special teams snaps in Dallas' win over the New York Giants. Kazee also made seven tackles (three solo) in the game, including a big one that prevented a long touchdown by running back Devontae Booker on a fourth down play in the third quarter. The Cowboys will return home to host Washington on Sunday night.

Offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill (2013-16) started for San Francisco and played all 57 snaps on offense and five snaps on special teams in San Francisco's dominant win over Atlanta. The 49ers head to Tennessee for a Thursday night game in Week 16. Offensive lineman Keith Ismael (2017-19) started and was on the field for all 55 snaps on offense for Washington. They will go to Dallas to play Kazee and the Cowboys in a Sunday night divisional matchup in Week 16. Cornerback Darren Hall (2018-20) played 13 defensive snaps and eight special teams snaps for Atlanta. Hall recorded a tackle. Hall and the Falcons will take on Detroit. Fullback Nick Bawden (2014-17) saw action for a snap on offense and 20 snaps on special teams for the New York Jets. They will play Jacksonville next Sunday. After a week on bye with New England, linebacker Calvin Munson was signed by Miami and played for eight snaps on special teams in Miami's win over the Jets. Next week, the Dolphins are in New Orleans. Long snapper Aaron Brewer (2008-11) appeared for five snaps on special teams for Arizona. Next week, they face Indianapolis on a Christmas Saturday game.

Arizona also activated tight end David Wells (2014-17) off injured reserve on Monday, but cut him on Tuesday. Buffalo called up offensive lineman Jacob Capra from the practice squad for their victory over Carolina. Tight end Kahale Warring (2016-18) is on the practice squad for Buffalo. Defensive lineman Alex Barrett (2013-16) and cornerback Luq Barcoo (2018-19) are on San Francisco's practice squad.

In the NBA, guard Malachi Flynn (2020) played in two games in the last week for Toronto before being placed in the league's health and safety protocols. Flynn averaged 5.0 points, 0.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assist. On the season, he is averaging 3.2 points, 1.1 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.1 blocks. Forward Jalen McDaniels (2018-19) appeared in four games last week for Charlotte. McDaniels averaged 10.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 1.0 steal, and 0.5 blocks. He started the week off with a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double, the third of his career on Wednesday in San Antonio. He finished the week by dropping 14 points and five rebounds in Utah on Monday. So far this season, he is averaging 6.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 0.5 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game. On Tuesday, Washington signed guard Jordan Schakel on a 10-day hardship exemption. Forward Kawhi Leonard (2010-11) is on the Los Angeles Clippers, but is sitting out while recovering from a Torn ACL suffered during last season's playoffs.
