SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State swimming and diving team opens the home portion of its 2021-22 season with a pair of dual meets on Monday and Tuesday against Cal Poly and Air Force, respectively. Competition at the Aztec Aquaplex starts at 10 a.m. on each day. The Cal Poly and Air Force duals are the start of six straight home competitions for the Aztecs prior to the Mountain West Championships from Feb. 16-19.

After dual wins over Grand Canyon, Loyola Marymount and Seattle U on Oct. 23, SDSU pushed its winning streak to 35 straight dual meets, including 8-0 to start the season. When they get into the pool on Monday, the Aztecs will have not lost a dual since a 153-147 loss to Colorado State on Jan. 8, 2018, a span of 1,442 days.

Since the start of the 2009-10 season, San Diego State has defeated Cal Poly in seven straight dual meets. Included in that streak are victories at the Aquaplex in 2011 (114-113), 2017 (165-132) and 2018 (152-140).

In the same timeframe, the Aztecs have defeated Air Force six straight times, including the last five matchups which have all been contested in San Diego State's home pool, and in three of those competitions the Falcons have failed to reach triple digit scoring, 245-55 in 2010, 199-92 in 2017 and 193-93 in 2018.

The Cal Poly dual will include 16 races while the Air Force meet will be conducted with 13 events.
