Women’s Tennis Posts 8-0 Record in Veterans Classic

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women's tennis team enjoyed a perfect first day at the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic.

Four Aztec players – senior Regina Pitts, senior Agustina Rimoldi Godoy, junior Cécile Morin and sophomore Alexandria Von Tersch Pohrer – combined to go post an 8-0 record on Friday.

In the first session of the day, the doubles teams of Pitts and Morin won matches against UC San Diego and San Diego. The group of Rimolddi Goody and Von Tersch Pohrer duplicated the doubles wins, giving the Aztecs a 4-0 record in doubles play.

In singles play against the Navy, all four San Diego State players recorded wins.

The five participating teams participating in the event, San Diego State, Navy, San Diego, San Diego Christian and UC San Diego continue play on Saturday at 2 p.m. PT.
 
All matches will be held on the USD campus and admission is free.
 
In addition to three days of competitions, the teams will also participate in community service events. On Friday, the teams will work with children from the Linda Vista Community Tennis Center and on Saturday the event participants will meet with Wounded Warriors.
