SAN DIEGO – The Aztec football team (10-1, 6-1) takes on Boise State (7-4, 5-2) Friday morning at 9 a.m. at Dignity Health Sports Park in the regular season finale. San Diego State can clinch a spot in the Mountain West Championship Game on Dec. 4 with either a Fresno State loss at San José State on Thanksgiving or by winning its game against the Broncos on Friday.
Fans are encouraged to wear red, and the first 10,000 fans will receive a mini replica of the new Aztec Stadium.
Prior to the game, San Diego State will honor 32 seniors playing in their final regular-season home game. (Note that some of the seniors are expected to return next season by utilizing an extra year of eligibility offered by the NCAA due to COVID-19 in 2020). Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 8:30 a.m. for the senior day ceremony as well as for the Honor Warrior introduction, which will be former SDSU linebacker Kyahva Tezino.
Tezino was a four-year letterwinner for the Aztecs from 2016-19, helping the program to three double-digit winning seasons, four bowl appearances and a conference title in 2016. Tezino, who was a two-time first-team all-Mountain West selection and three-time MW Defensive Player of the Week pick, is just the sixth Aztec in program history to earn multiple team MVP honors when he won the award in both 2018 and 2019. Tezino is ranked 11th all-time at San Diego State with 290 tackles.
Past and present members of the Navy will be recognized throughout the game and all active and veteran military members can purchase $10 vouchers on base.
Aztec Village, a staple of the SDSU football gameday experience, which is free and open to the public, is located outside of the North end zone and features food and beverage vendors, a live DJ, a photo booth, interactive games and a prize wheel, as well as a Kids Zone. Aztec Village will open at 7:30 a.m. while gates to the stadium open at 8 a.m.
