SAN DIEGO - The Aztec women's basketball team returns home to host Georgia Southern (3-0) Saturday at 11 a.m. and UAB (3-0) Monday at 1 p.m.

Aztec Tidbits
• This is the first meeting ever against both Georgia Southern and UAB.
• There won't be a stream for either of these games, but the remainder of SDSU's home games will be streamed on the Mountain West Network.
• The Aztecs split their Orange County road trip, earning a 66-60 win at UC Irvine on Sunday before falling at Cal State Fullerton 60-56 Tuesday evening.
• SDSU beat Cal State Los Angeles 72-57 in their season opener behind 13 three-pointers, their most in a game since Dec. 20, 2017 against Hope International.
• Sophia Ramos is averaging 18.0 points per game and is 11-for-19 from three, giving her the most made threes in the conference and the second-best three-point percentage.
• Mercedes Staples has also been hot from outside, shooting 54.5 percent (6-11). She led SDSU with 12 rebounds at Fullerton.
• Kamaria Gipson had a career-high 12 points on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting at UC Irvine. She also set a new career-best with six made free throws and tied her career-high with three blocks.
• The Aztecs are shooting 39.3 percent from three and holding their opponents to 23.0 percent shooting from deep.
• Point guard Asia Avinger (Cerritos, Calif.) was named the Mountain West Preseason Freshman of the Year for the second straight season. She missed all of last season with an injury.
• Junior Isabela Hernandez (Bellingham, Wash.) is second all-time in career three-point percentage (.384).
• In total, SDSU returns four starters and nine letterwinners from a year ago.
• The Aztecs officially joined the Jordan Brand family this season, becoming just the ninth women's basketball program in the Jordan lineup.
 
Sophia Ramos Enters Senior Year with Sights Set on SDSU Record Books
• Barring injury, senior guard Sophia Ramos (San Antonio, Texas) could finish her career in the top five all-time in points and assists and become the only Aztec ever with 1,500 points, 400 assists and 500 rebounds in a career. She is also one of the best free-throw and three-point shooters in program history.
• Ramos is 11-for-19 from three through three games this season. This has raised her career three-point percentage to 35.7, which is sixth place all-time. She began the year in 11th.
• With two more made free-throws, Ramos will move into 10th place for most free-throws made in a career, which means she will be top 10 all-time in four categories: 3-point field goal percentage, 3-point field goals made, assists and made free throws.
• Career records aren't kept for free throw percentage, but she has two of the top ten single-season marks for free throw percentage. She was 85 percent from the line in 2019-20 and 83.1 percent last year.
• Ramos became the 13th Aztec to reach 1,000 points in three seasons or less and the 10th to do it in 70 or fewer games.

• The Eagles are 3-0 on the year with wins at Auburn (68-66) and home victories over Fort Valley State (99-71) and FIU (81-74, OT).

• They are 3-0 on the year with all of their wins coming by double-digits.
• The Blazers went 10-13 last year and 3-11 in Conference USA.
• They return 11 players and all five starters.
• Zakyia Weathersby is averaging 20.0 points and 13.3 rebounds and shooting 53 percent from the floor. She had 10 points, 18 rebounds and six blocks against Mississippi Valley State Friday.
• Caitlynn Daniels hit eight three pointers Friday.
• They are averaging 77.7 points and holding their opponents to 52.3 points.
• They are holding their opponents to 20.4 percent shooting from three.
• Head coach Randy Norton (9th year) has guided the Blazers to at least 15 wins in seven of the last eight seasons and they had three straight 20-win seasons from 2017-20.
