Johannes Seeman Falls Short at ITA Event in Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. – San Diego State men's tennis player Johannes Seeman (Pärnu, Estonia) dropped a tough three-set battle in his opening match of the qualifying round on Monday at the ITA All-American Championships on the University of Tulsa campus.

Facing Presbyterian College's Nicholas McKinney on the courts of Michael D. Case Tennis Center, Seeman fell short in the first set but fought back valiantly to tie the match after outlasting his Blue Hose adversary, 7-6(6). The Aztec sophomore soon found himself in another tiebreaker in the third set but came out on short end of a 7-6(3) score.

With his loss, Seeman will face Adham Gaber of host school Tulsa in the first round of the qualifying consolation draw on Tuesday, beginning at 10:30 a.m. CT/8:30 a.m. PT. Gaber lost to VCU's Rayane Stable on Monday in three sets as well, 2-6, 6-0, 7-6(1).
