SAN DIEGO -- The NFL season rolled on as the MLB season came to a close and the PGA Tour season is just underway.

In the NFL, safety Damontae Kazee (2013-16) started and played 68 snaps on defense and four on special teams in Dallas' win over previously undefeated Carolina. Kazee made four tackles (three solo) in the game. The Cowboys will host the New York Giants in week five. Offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill (2013-16) started and was on the field for all 76 offensive snaps and a trio of special teams snaps for San Francisco. The 49ers travel to Arizona to take on the league's final undefeated team on Sunday. Long snapper Aaron Brewer (2008-11) saw action for nine snaps on special teams in the Cardinals' win over the Los Angeles Rams. Arizona will face Brunskill's 49ers in week five. Cornerback Darren Hall (2018-20) did not appear for Atlanta against Washington. The Falcons host the New York Jets on Sunday. Seattle placed running back Rashaad Penny (2014-17) on injured reserve on Saturday and Arizona released cornerback Luq Barcoo (2018-19) on Thursday. Offensive linemen Keith Ismael (2017-19) and rookie Jacob Capra (2019-20), fullback Nick Bawden (2014-17), and tight end Kahale Warring (2016-18) are on the practice squads for Washington, Green Bay, the New York Jets and Buffalo, respectively. On the other side of the ball, rookie safety Dwayne Johnson (2017-20), linebacker Calvin Munson (2013-16), defensive lineman Alex Barrett (2013-16) are the defensive players on practice squads with Atlanta, Miami, and San Francisco. 

In the MLB, Ty France (2013-15) started at first base for the final five games of Seattle's season. He collected three hits, including two extra base hits, while scoring four runs and driving in an additional run. France finished his breakout season playing in 152 games, batting .291 with 18 home runs, 73 RBIs and 84 runs, while owning a .368 on-base percentage. Catcher Seby Zavala (2012-15) appeared in 37 games for the Chicago White Sox after only having previously played in five games. Zavala hit .183 with a .240 on base percentage, five home runs, 15 RBIs and 15 run. Zavala became the first player in MLB history to hit his first three career home runs in the same game. Stephen Strasburg (2007-09) made five starts for Washington this season, pitching 21 ⅔ innings, posting a 4.57 ERA, a 1.39 WHIP, striking out 21 hitters, and finishing with a 1-2 record. Infielder Alan Trejo (2015-17) made his MLB debut for Colorado this season, appearing in 28 games, and batting .217 with a .260 on-base percentage, a home run, three RBIs and seven runs. Outfielder Greg Allen (2012-14) appeared in 15 games for the New York Yankees this season, hitting hit .270 with a .417 on-base percentage, two RBIs and nine runs.

On the PGA Tour, J.J. Spaun (2009-12) finished 68th in the Sanderson Farms Championship at 1-under-par, while Scott Piercy (1999-01) did not make the cut in the event. Next weekend, both former Aztec golfers will compete in the Shriners Children's Open in Las Vegas. Xander Schauffele (2013-15), meanwhile, is ranked fifth in the world.
