TULSA, Okla. – Three San Diego State men's tennis players fell short during their respective singles matches on Sunday during the pre-qualifying rounds of the ITA All-American Championships, held jointly at Michael D. Case Tennis Center and LaFortune Park.

Freshman Alexander Mändma had his run through the bracket halted in the round of 64 by Oklahoma's seeded competitor Justin Schlageter, 6-3, 7-6(1), while Joe Tyler experienced a similar fate in his encounter with Northern Arizona's Eban Straker-Meads, who pinned a 6-3, 6-2 defeat on the Aztec senior transfer.

Over in the consolation draw at LaFortune Park, junior Victor Castro battled Gonzaga's Matthew Hollingworth before running out of steam in a tough three-set decision, 7-5, 6-7(5), 6-2.

SDSU continues play at the ITA All-American Championships on Monday when sophomore Johannes Seeman makes his tournament debut against Presbyterian's Nicholas McKinney in the opening qualifying round at 11:30 a.m. CT/9:30 a.m. PT.
