MEDINAH, Ill. – The Aztec women's golf team is tied for ninth place (out of 15) in a loaded field at the Illini Invitational at Medinah through one and half rounds. The second round was suspended due to inclement weather and will be resumed before the third round gets underway Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. PT (8:30 a.m. CT).
 
SDSU shot a 287 (-1) in the first round and got through eight holes at one-under-par in the second round before play was suspended.
 
Three Aztecs are in the top 30 with Bernice Olivarez Ilas pacing the team with a score of two-under par through 27 holes, tied for 12th.
 
Bernice Olivarez Ilas played her first 18 holes bogey-free while getting birdies on the par-4 327-yard fifth hole and par-4 358-yard ninth hole. Through nine holes of the second round she is an even par with a birdie (hole No. 17) and a bogey (hole No. 6).
 
Sara Kjellker and Anika Sato at an even par and tied for 28th. Kjellker had bogeys on her first (No. 16) and last hole (No. 15) in the first round and then four birdies and one bogey on the remaining holes. She is one-over-par through eight holes in the second round.
 
Sato had 17 pars and one bogey (hole No. 1) in her first round. She had three birdies and two bogeys in her nine holes in the second round
 
Lee was one-over-par in the first round with three bogeys and two birdies (holes No. 17 and 4) and an even par through nine holes in the second round. She is tied for 36th at an even par.
 
Anna Lina Otten was two-over-par in the first round with three bogeys and one birdie (hole No. 7) and two-over through eight holes in the second round.
