SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego State football team moved up one place and is ranked 24th in the latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll, released Sunday. The No. 24 ranking matches the highest by the Aztecs (5-0) since being ranked 19th on Oct. 8, 2017.

SDSU, which is one of 13 unbeaten teams left in FBS play, has now been ranked 12 times since the 2016 season.

San Diego State received 176 votes in this week's poll, up from 111 a week ago. The Aztecs have 68 more points than No. 25 Texas (108) and are 49 points behind No. 23 SMU (225). Also just ahead of SDSU are No. 20 Florida (397), No. 21 Texas A&M (348) and No. 22 North Carolina State (265). Georgia is ranked first in the poll with 1,550 points, including all 62 first-place votes.

San Diego State also made its season debut in the AFCA Coaches Poll at No. 24 with 156 points, one point ahead of No. 25 Clemson (155). The Aztecs had 103 points in last week's poll. Georgia is the top-ranked team in the coaches poll with 1,624 points and 64 of 65 first-place votes. Iowa also received a first-place nod and is ranked second with 1,537 points.

SDSU is off to a 5-0 start for just the second time in the last 46 seasons (also 2017).

San Diego State returns to action Friday night at San José State with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. PT.
