Aztec Notes
With the last meeting coming in 2019, the series against San Diego began in 1992. The Aztecs and Toreros have played 19 times with SDSU owning a slim 10-8-1 advantage in the all-time series, but are just 3-7-0 at USD. San Diego State has been held scoreless in three of its last four games on the Toreros' home field, being outscored 11-2.

San Diego State's current five-game slide equals the second longest in program history and the longest since the 2001 season. The longest losing streak in program history is six games, which occurred in the 2000 season.

Alexa Madueno (So., GK, Woodland, Calif.) established a season and career-high when she recorded 14 saves in the team's game at No. 13 Stanford (8/29). The saves are the most since Aubree Southwick set the program record of 16 saves in a game at Oregon State on Sept. 19, 2010.

Through six matches this season, Alexa Madueno (So., GK, Woodland, Calif.) has recorded 44 saves, blowing past her total of 35 saves in 11 contests last season. She is averaging 7.3 saves per game in 2021. If you extrapolate that out to the team's 19 regular-season games, Madueno would total 139 saves, 33 more than the program's current single-season record of 106, which was set by Aubree Southwick in the 2007 season.

Alexa Madueno (So., GK, Woodland, Calif.) is second in the nation in saves (44) and ranks No. 14 in saves per game (7.33) and No. 38 in goalie minutes played (540:00). She leads the Mountain West in each of those categories, as well as being No. T-3 in shutouts.

Denise Castro (Fr., MF, San Ysidro, Calif.) leads the side with two goals (one each at Saint Mary's - 8/26 & vs. Long Beach State - 9/5). Castro is No. T-4 in the Mountain West in that category. With a call up from the Mexican National Team, Castro will be the first active Aztec women's soccer player to compete for a national team since the start of the Friesen era (2007-present).
