SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women's tennis team hosts their first home event of the year this weekend, welcoming six teams to The Mesa for the Fall Classic I Oct. 1-3 at the Aztec Tennis Center.
Attending this year's tournament are student-athletes from Grand Canyon, Long Beach State, Cal State Northridge, University of Texas, El Paso (UTEP) and San José State. Four of the five teams competing in this year's tournament also took part in the 2019 edition of the Fall Classic I.
The Aztecs return to hosting this annual event after a break in 2020 (due to the COVID-19 pandemic). SDSU has hosted a version of the Fall Classic every season dating back to the 2003-04 campaign.
Each day of the tournament is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. with two brackets of doubles action, followed by play of five singles brackets. Draws for the tournament can be found here, while results and a recap will be posted on GoAztecs.com following the conclusion of play each day.
Admission to Fall Classic I is free and fans are encouraged to park in P7 on the corner of 55th Street and Montezuma Road. The Aztec Tennis Center is located just beyond Tony Gwynn Stadium, SDSU Softball Stadium and the Aztec Aquaplex on the northwest edge of campus.
