SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's golf team continues its fall season when it travels to Colorado for the Golfweek Conference Challenge at the Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott, Colo.

The 54-hole tournament will be played over three days (Monday-Wednesday) on the par-72 6,305 yard Fazio course. The forecast calls for the weather to get progressively worse each day. The high Monday should be in the low 70's with partly cloudy skies, but there could be scattered showers on Tuesday and Wednesday with cooler temperatures.

The Aztecs will be competing against BYU, Cal State Fullerton, Central Arkansas, Colorado, Dallas Baptist, Delaware, Denver (host school), East Tennessee State, Kansas, Kennesaw State, Long Beach State, Minnesota, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Pepperdine, Rutgers, South Florida, Washington State, Wyoming and Xavier. No schools are ranked or receiving votes in the latest WGCA Coaches Poll.

SDSU will be paired with BYU, Washington State and Rutgers and will be teeing off on on the first hole beginning at 10:40 a.m. PT.

The Aztecs are coming off an impressive fourth place finish (out of 16 schools) at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. SDSU shot an 8-over-par 872 and saw Sara Kjellker (T-6th, -2) and Bernice Olivarez Ilas (11th, -1) earn top 15 finishes.

SDSU will use the lineup of Sara Kjellker, Bernice Olivarez Ilas, Anna Lina Otten, Anika Sato and Sammy Lee, who will be making her season debut.

Kjellker finished 2-under-par two weeks ago, which included a second round score of 66. This tied her career-high and is tied for the third-lowest 18-hole score in program history.

Both Olivarez Ilas and Lina Otten had the lowest 54-hole scores of their college careers. Olivarez Ilas shot a 70 in each of her first two rounds, her second best 18-hole round, and finished one-under par and in 11th place. Lina Otten also shot a 70 in the first round, a career-best, and finished 5-over par and tied for 33rd.

Sato was 13-over-par and tied for 66th in her collegiate debut. She shot a 74 in her first round, then followed with a 77 and 78.

Junior Sammy Lee will be making her season debut. She has competed in just one tournament while at SDSU, the Lamkin Invitational on SDSU's home course, The Farms, last spring where she finished with a 40-over 256 to tie for 54th.

Following this tournament, the Aztecs will play at the famed Medinah Country Club in Illinois (October 11-12) to wrap up their fall season.
