EUGENE, Ore. – Former Aztec Whitney Ashley finished fifth in the discus throw finals at the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials Saturday evening at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field. Despite being one of three Americans to have met the Olympic standard, Whitney will not represent the U.S. at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Ashley's best throw of 193-11 (59.10m) was 1.11 meters short of the third-place mark and only three move on.

Ashley had four throws that topped her best throw from yesterday (190-5, 58.05m). Her second was her best at 193-11 (59.10m), her third went 192-9 (58.76m), her sixth went 192-1 (58.55m) and her fourth went 190-11 (58.21m).

Valarie Allman took first (229-5, 69.92m), Michaela Hazlewood placed second (205-2, 62.54) and Rachel Dincoff came in third (197-6, 60.21m).
