SAN DIEGO -- It was another big week for former Aztecs in professional sports. 

In the NBA, Kawhi Leonard (2010-11) and the Los Angeles Clippers came back from a 2-0 deficit to tie their series with Dallas at 2-2. Across the three games this week, Leonard averaged 35.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.3 blocks. He scored 41 points in the second game and in Game 4 he had a double-double with 29 points and 10 rebounds. Game No. 5 will take place on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. PT.

In the MLB, Ty France (2013-2015) started all seven games for Seattle last week. He mainly played first base, with a game each at second base and designated hitter. On the week, France batted .360, with a .407 on base percentage, six RBIs and two runs scored. On Sunday in Texas, France was a major part of Seattle's offense, opening the scoring with an RBI double in the first. He followed it up with a two-run single in the third in a game that the Mariners won, 4-2. France came through in the clutch on Monday as well. With the Mariners trailing by a run and down to their last two outs in the 10th inning, he singled off Oakland reliever Lou Trivino to drive in Jack Mayfield to tie the game at 5-5/ France scored the winning run on a walk-off sacrifice fly to right field later in the inning. On the season, France is batting .250 with a .352 on base percentage, 20 RBIs, three home runs and 23 runs scored. The Mariners are in third and trail the Athletics by 2 1/2 games in the AL West. Stephen Strasburg (2007-2009) started on Thursday for the Washington Nationals. In five innings of work, he allowed five hits and three earned runs with five strikeouts. On the season, Strasburg is 1-2 with a 4.43 ERA, a 1.33 WHIP, and 20 strikeouts in 20.1 innings. The Nationals are in fifth place, six games behind New York in the NL East.

On the PGA Tour, Scott Piercy (1999-2001) did not make the cut in the Charles Schwab Challenge. Next weekend, Xander Schauffele (2013-2015) will compete in the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio. Schauffele is ranked fifth in the world and sixth in the FedEx Cup.
