SAN DIEGO -- Following a spirited draft earlier in the day, the rosters have been set for the 2021 San Diego State Football Spring Game, which will be held Friday. The spring game, which is the final practice for SDSU's spring campaign, will feature Team Aztec against Team Warrior.

The upperclassmen drafted the two teams beginning at 3 p.m. PT Tuesday with the winning team earning a steak dinner with all the trimmings. The consolation prize for the losing team is a hot dog dinner served on plastic plates with plastic utensils.

Highlighting Team Aztec are all-Mountain West performers DL Cameron Thomas (2019-20 first team), DL Keshawn Banks (2019 second team, 2020 honorable mention), K Matt Araiza (2019-20 honorable mention), DL Jonah Tavai (2020 honorable mention) and TE Daniel Bellinger (2020 honorable mention).

Team Warrior, meanwhile, has all-league players LB Caden McDonald (2020 first team), RB Greg Bell (2020 second team), OL Zachary Thomas (2020 second team) and OL William Dunkle (2019 honorable mention), as well as 2019 offensive team MVP Jesse Matthews.

Unfortunately, due to COVID protocols, the general public will not be allowed to attend the event. Following the day's festivities, however, a full recap, statistics, highlights and interviews will be posted to GoAztecs.com.

San Diego State is set to open its season at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif., on Saturday, Sept. 4, although game times and television arrangements, including moves to non-Saturdays will be announced at a later date.

The Aztecs will play seven of their 12 games in 2021 in Carson while a new stadium is under construction and will have only one road contest over the first six weeks of the season.
