SAN DIEGO -- It was another productive week for former Aztecs in professional sports.

In the NBA, Malachi Flynn (2020) played in three games last week for Toronto, averaging 8.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 steal per game. He dropped 18 points in a win over Cleveland on Monday night. Jalen McDaniels (2018-19) played in four games for Charlotte last week, starting two, including an 11-point game against New York. He averaged 7.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.0 steal, and 0.5 blocks per game. The Hornets are the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference. Kawhi Leonard (2010-11) is on the Los Angeles Clippers, who are the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. 

In MLB, Ty France (2013-15) started five of six games for Seattle last week at second base and designated hitter. In those games, France batted .364 with an on base percentage of .417, scoring four runs and three RBIs. He is riding a five-game hitting streak while the Mariners are in second place, two games behind Oakland, in the AL West. Stephen Strasburg (2007-09) is on Washington's IL with right shoulder inflammation.

On the PGA Tour, Xander Schauffele (2013-15) teamed with Patrick Cantlay at the Zurich Classic in New Orleans, tying for 11th at 15-under-par. Scott Piercy (1999-01) and J.J. Spaun (2009-12) failed to make the cut at Zurich with their respective playing partners, but both are competing this weekend at the Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor, Fla.
