SAN DIEGO -- Former Aztecs in professional sports continue their hot streak.

Malachi Flynn (2020) started four games last week for Toronto, including three wins. Flynn averaged 14.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game over those four games. Last Tuesday against Atlanta, he scored a career-high 22 points. For Charlotte, Jalen McDaniels (2018-19) also started four games last week, averaging 12.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 2.3 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game. On Tuesday he had a season-high eight rebounds against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Hornets are the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference. Kawhi Leonard (2010-11) started for the Los Angeles Clippers in Sunday's win over Minnesota. In 23 minutes, Leonard put up 15 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists,and a block. The Clippers are the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.

Ty France (2013-15) started in all eight games for the Seattle Mariners last week at a combination of second base, third base and designated hitter. France has been a big part of the lineup this season for the first-place 11-6 Mariners. Last week, France batted .296, with an on-base percentage of .375, scoring six runs with six RBIs. France hit a homer in the first inning of the first game of last Tuesday's doubleheader in Baltimore. Just the second hitter of the game, France homered off former All-Star John Means to give Seattle a 1-0 lead. On Saturday, he hit another homer in the fifth inning against division rival Houston. After a Mitch Haniger triple, France welcomed reliever Brooks Raley to the game with a two-run shot to left. Stephen Strasburg (2007-09) started on Tuesday in St. Louis. In four innings, he allowed eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits, while striking out three. Following the game, Strasburg was placed on the IL with right shoulder inflammation. 

On the PGA Tour, Scott Piercy (1999-01) finished 62nd at 2-over-par in the RBC Heritage.
