  • The San Diego State lacrosse team competes in its second straight MPSF conference matchup, welcoming the Fresno State Bulldogs to The Mesa Saturday, April 17. The opening draw between the conference foes is set for noon.

  • Live stats and a stream will be available for this weekend's game. The websites for both the live stats and stream are linked on GoAztecs.com (women's lacrosse schedule page).

  • LAST TIME OUT (vs. USC, April 9, 2021): In an exciting fashion, the San Diego State lacrosse team secured its first-ever win in program history over the University of Southern California Women of Troy, topping their Pac-12 opponent 14-13 in overtime Friday at the United Airlines Field at Los Angeles Coliseum. Senior Bailey Brown scored the game-winning golden goal with just eight seconds left in the first overtime period, solidifying a 7-1 Aztecs' run that brought the Scarlet and Black back from a 12-7 deficit early in the second half to win by a score of 14-13.

  • LAST TIME OUT (vs. UC Davis, April 11, 2021): The San Diego State lacrosse team ended their two-game road trip on a sour note, falling 19-10 to UC Davis at UC Davis Health Stadium in Davis, Calif. Sunday. The Aztecs were led by the duo of redshirt senior Lexi Tan and senior Julia Sheehan on the offensive attack. Tan scored four goals with a 3-3 mark on free-position attempts while collecting two ground balls and causing a turnover. Sheehan earned her first hat trick of the 2021 season with three scores including a free-position goal. With her 14 saves throughout the day, redshirt senior Katy Sharretts moved into sole possession of the fifth-most saves in a career by a MPSF netminder, currently totaling 533 saves during her time donning the Scarlet and Black.

  • San Diego State lacrosse freshman Maggie Marion was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Rookie of the Week for the period ending April 12, the conference offices announced Monday. The award is Marion's first weekly honor from the MPSF in her young collegiate career.  Marion was an important part of the Aztecs' offensive and defensive attack in both games over the weekend for the Aztecs. In the Scarlet and Black's historic win over USC, Marion led the team with two caused turnovers while also picking up two ground balls. Her caused turnovers included the steal that led the Aztecs to tie the game at 7-7 in the first half and the forced change in possession that gave the Scarlet and Black their necessary 12th goal of the game to bring San Diego State within a single goal of the Women of Troy. Additionally, both of her ground balls led to Aztecs' scores in the game with USC.  In the matchup with UC Davis, Marion secured two more caused turnovers and a ground ball.

  • Sharretts continues to make her mark not only on the San Diego State and MPSF record books but on the country's lacrosse community in her final games donning the Scarlet and Black. With her incredible 14 save performance in the Aztecs' first-ever win over USC, Sharretts was recognized by US Lacrosse Magazine's Taylor Cummings as one of the nation's top five players of the week. Cummings noted that she
"can't imagine the pressure a goalie must feel at any moment during a game, but I'm thinking that the pressure definitely increases when it's overtime. The best goalies have an ability to remain poised and confident during big moments, and Sharretts did just that for the Aztecs. She made a critical save with about 90 seconds remaining in OT which gave San Diego State an opportunity to run its offense and score the game winner. Without Sharretts' confidence and ability to thrive in big moments, that first-ever win may not have happened."

  • Along with impressing the national lacrosse media over the weekend, Sharretts now sits fifth in the MPSF all-time career saves rankings with 533 total in her Aztec career. She sits 50 saves away from the fourth-most saves by an MPSF netminder in their career, currently held by Hilary Harkins of UC Davis (2005-08, 583 saves). She leads the league in saves this season (120) and is fourth in the nation in the statistical category.

  • Aztecs sitting in the top-ten MPSF conference statistics categories include:
    •  Emily Resnick- 33 points (4th), 16 assists (3rd), 16 draw controls (9th), 48 shots (tied-for-sixth), 7 free-position goals (tied-for-sixth)
    •  Cailin Young- 22 draw controls (7th), 7 caused turnovers (10th)
    •  Caitlin Jones- 6 free-position goals (8th)
    •  Bailey Brown- 26 points (tied-for-9th), 50 draw controls (tied-for-second), 21 goals (7th), 10 caused turnovers (tied-for-third), 51 shots (4th), 16 ground balls (tied-for-tenth), 2 game-winning goals (tied-for-first)
    •  Camdyn O'Donnell- 5 assists (tied-for-ninth)
    •  Lexi Tan- 22 goals (tied-for-fifth), 8 caused turnovers (tied-for-sixth), 46 shots (8th), 11 free-position goals (4th)
    •  Katy Sharretts- 25 ground balls (tied-for-third in the MPSF)

  • The standings after the two MPSF games the Aztecs play this season (currently sitting at 0-1) will determine seeding for the conference tournament and will decide which two programs play in the semifinals on April 30 (No. 2 vs. No. 3), with the winner of that matchup heading to play the No.1 seed in the championship game on May 1.
