BERKELEY, Calif. – The Aztec men's soccer team (1-6-2) fell at California (4-4-1) 3-1 Saturday evening. SDSU scored in the fifth minute but then saw the Golden Bears score three unanswered goals.
 
Tristan Weber nailed a highlight reel goal from 35 yards out, finding the upper right corner to give the Aztecs an early advantage. Andre Ochoa and Blake Bowen assisted the score.
 
The Bears had nine of the game's first 10 shots and scored the equalizer in the 26th minute when Evan Davila finished from 20 yards out.
 
The score was knotted at one at the half with Cal holding a 13-3 advantage in shots.
 
The Golden Bears scored twice in the first 11 minutes of the second frame. The first came on a Jonathan Estrada PK in the 49th minute after Cal was tackled from behind in the box.
 
Cal pushed their lead to 3-1 in the 56th minute when JJ Foe Nuphaus connected from 22 yards out.
 
The Bears finished with a 19-7 edge in shots and 10-2 in shots on goal. The Aztecs out-cornered Cal 7-5.
 
Goalkeeper Tetsuya Kadono finished with seven saves. His third match in the last four collecting at least seven saves.
 
THE NOTE
Freshman midfielder Andre Ochoa has recorded a point in each of the last four matches. He (along with Blake Bowen) assisted Tristan Weber's goal.
