COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- San Diego State's Sara Kjellker (Hollviken, Sweden) has been named the Mountain West Women's Golfer of the Week, the league announced Thursday. It is the fifth time of her career Kjellker has been named the MW Golfer of the Week to go along with a MW Golfer of the Month honor in Sept. 2019.

Kjellker tied for second place out of 80 golfers at The Bruzzy earlier this week (March 28-29) at 3-under 213, leading the Aztecs to a sixth-place finish out of 15 teams in a field that included eight programs ranked in the top 40 of the Golfstat rankings. The runner-up finish tied the best of her career and was also her second runner-up placing this year (also at the Lamkin Invitational on Feb. 8-9).

Kjellker opened with a 2-under 70 and a 1-under 71 on Sunday, and finished with an even-par 72 in Monday's final round. Kjellker ended up tying for third in the field in par-4 scoring (3.97) and tied for sixth in par-5 scoring (4.67).

A two-time first-team all-Mountain West selection, Kjellker leads SDSU with a 73.50 stroke average on the season, along with rounds below par (4), rounds in the 60s (1) and even-par rounds (2). She is ranked 31st in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin ratings (as of March 30) and 39th in the latest Golfstat rankings (as of March 30).

Kjellker and San Diego State heads to the Silverado Showdown at Silverado Golf Club, April 5-7, in Napa, Calif.
