SAN JOSE, Calif. – The Aztec women's soccer team (3-0-0) cruised to a 6-1 victory at San Jose State (0-2-0) Friday evening. Rachelle Elve led SDSU with three goals, collecting her first career hat trick, and the Aztecs scored their most goals since a 6-0 win over Utah Valley on August 21, 2015.

SDSU outshot the Spartans 22-8 and put 14 shots on goal while allowing just three. Aside from Elve's three goals, Jordan Girman, Chloe Frisch and Anna Toohey scored. Toohey also dished out an assist, as did Emma Gaines-Ramos, Laura Fuentes and Malia Kaleiohi.

The Aztecs wasted no time, scoring in the third minute on a rocket from Jordan Girman from the top of the box after a nice feed from Emma Gaines-Ramos.
SDSU extended their lead in the 42nd minute when Chloe Frisch flicked in a Laura Fuentes pass.

The Aztecs using swarming pressure and counter attacks held a 12-2 shot advantage in the first 45 minutes and didn't allow a shot on goal. SDSU also had seven corners to the Spartans' one in the first half.

Elve scored all three of her goals in the second half, the first one coming in the 58th minute when she slid to finish a cross from Phoebe Leitch.

Nine minutes later Elve struck again. This time she was set up by Malia Kaleiohi, who weaved her way through the Spartan defense before sending a low cross to Elve.

The next goal came in the 73rd minute on an unassisted goal from Anna Toohey who beat a charging keeper with a nutmeg before finishing in the corner.
In the 81st minute, Toohey helped Elve complete her hat trick with a beautiful slip pass.

The Spartans got on the board in the 86th minute with a goal from Bella Keomounpane.

The Aztec defense allowed just three shots on goal with keeper Alexa Madueno recording a pair of saves.
