SAN DIEGO— San Diego State lacrosse redshirt-senior Katy Sharretts was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Player of the Week, the conference offices announced Monday evening. Sharretts earned the defensive player of the week nod for the period ending Feb. 21, marking the second consecutive week the award has gone to an Aztec.

Sharretts was a strong force in the Aztecs' two games against Pac-12 foes over the weekend. In the game against Oregon Friday, Feb. 19, Sharretts grabbed a season-high five ground balls and forced a turnover to add to her 13 saves and .591 save percentage. Against Arizona State Sunday, Feb. 21, Sharretts saved nine shots from finding the back of the net and added a ground ball.

The Aztecs head back on the road next weekend for a Sunday matinee match-up with the California Golden Bears, Feb. 28. The opening draw is scheduled for 11 a.m.
