SAN DIEGO -- It was another big week for former Aztecs in professional sports.

In the NBA, Kawhi Leonard (2010-11) played in two games last week for the Los Angeles Clippers, averaging 29.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game. The Clippers are tied with the Los Angeles Lakers for the second-best record in the NBA at 22-10, 3 1/2 game behind Utah. Jalen McDaniels (2018-19) also played in two games last week, representing the Charlotte Hornets. McDaniels averaged 6.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game for a team which currently sits just outside the playoff picture as the No. 9 seed in the Eastern Conference with a 14-16 record. Malachi Flynn (2020) was called up by the Toronto Raptors from the G-League, playing in wins over Milwaukee and Minnesota. Flynn averaged 2.0 points and 1.0 rebounds per game for Toronto, which is the No. 5 seed in the East at 16-15.

On the PGA Tour, Xander Schauffele (2013-15) tied for 15th at 4-under-par at The Genesis Invitational. Scott Piercy (1999-01) also tied for 64th in the event at 6-over-par. Next weekend, Schuaffele will compete in the World Golf Championships-Workday Championship at The Concession in Bradenton, Fla., while J.J. Spaun (2009-12) will compete in the Puerto Rico Open in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
