SAN DIEGO -- It was another good week for former Aztecs in professional sports.
In the PGA Tour, Xander Schauffele (2013-15) had another dominant weekend. At the Waste Management Phoenix Open in Scottsdale, Ariz., Schauffele finished tied for second for the second consecutive week, shooting 18-under-par, one shot back of four-time major winner Brooks Koepka. J.J. Spaun (2009-12) and Scott Piercy (1999-01) will compete in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this weekend in Pebble Beach, Calif., near Monterey.
In the NBA, Kawhi Leonard (2010-11) played four games for the Los Angeles Clippers last week. Leonard averaged 26.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game. The Clippers are currently the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. The Toronto Raptors sent Malachi Flynn (2020) to their G-League affiliate, Raptors 905.
