COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West Conference officially announced on Wednesday that the two-game, men's basketball series between San Diego State and New Mexico, scheduled to be played today and Friday, Feb. 5, has been canceled.

The series, which was to be played in the Rip Griffin Center on the campus of Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, Texas, will not be rescheduled.

San Diego State's men's basketball program is actively exploring options to fill the open dates and will announce further changes in its schedule as they become available.

Winners of four straight and averaging 93.5 points per game over that stretch, the Aztecs' (13-4, 7-3 Mountain West) next scheduled games are currently set for Monday, Feb. 8 and Wednesday, Feb. 10 against the San Jose State Spartans (5-11, 3-9 MW). Both games have tip times of 8 p.m. PT, with Monday's game being broadcast by FS1 and CBS Sports Network broadcasting Wednesday's matchup.
