SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women's soccer program, which has not competed since Nov. 9, 2019, a span of 430 days, has revealed its 2020 schedule which will be contested in the spring semester of 2021.

This one-time schedule will consist of a 10-game Mountain West-only slate. It will be a double round-robin format with the teams in the league being divided into two divisions. Competition will commence on March 5 and go through April 11, for a total of six weeks.  A single match will be played on Saturday, April 17 at a campus site between the two division winners to determine the Conference champions and its automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.

The teams in the Aztecs' division are Boise State, Fresno State, Nevada, San Jose State and UNLV. Each team will play a home-and-home series to determine which program will advance to the championship match.

The schedule opens with a pair of games on The Sports Deck. On Friday, March 5, San Diego State opens the season against Nevada, a team it has never lost to in 10 matches, including six in San Diego. Last year, in San Diego, the Aztecs authored a 4-1 win with goals from Chloe Frisch, Taylor Moorehead, Phoebe Leitch and the game winner from Rachelle Elve.

Two days later, on Sunday, March 7, Boise State is in town, in a matchup of the two teams who played for the Mountain West championship last year. The Aztecs are 7-6-0 overall against the Broncos, but 2-3-0 on the Sports Deck. It will be the first appearance for Boise State on The Mesa since 2018 when it posted a 1-0 win against the Aztecs.

SDSU takes its first road trip for games at San Jose State and Fresno State on Friday, March 12 and Sunday, March 14, respectively. The Aztecs are 12-2-2 overall against the Spartans, including a 4-2-0 mark in San Jose. The last time San Diego State played at SJSU, in 2018, the Aztecs produced a 1-0 victory on a Moorehead goal in the 89th minute.

In Fresno, San Diego State is 3-3-1 and holds a 13-3-2 record in the all-time series. In 2018, the last time SDSU was at Fresno State, Moorehead scored for the Aztecs, but the Bulldogs escaped with a 2-1 result on a game winner in the 87th minute.

San Diego State then returns home for three straight, before heading on the road to complete the regular season with three in a row.

The homestand opens against UNLV on Saturday, March 20. The Aztecs hold a 16-9-2 advantage in the all-time series, are 9-3-1 in America's Finest City, including a 5-1-1 record in the last seven against the Rebels in San Diego. The Aztecs played UNLV last year on the Sports Deck and came away with a 1-0 decision. Darcy Weiser produced the game winner in the 76th minute. The UNLV game marks the end of the first go around among the teams in the division and is the jumping off point for the five return games.

Friday, March 26 and Sunday, March 28, San Diego State hosts Fresno State and San Jose State, respectively.  On its home field, SDSU is 8-0-1 against the Bulldogs, including a 2-1 overtime win last year. Moorehead opened the scoring in the 11th minute and an Elve goal in the 92nd minute gave the Aztecs the win. Similar to Fresno State, San Jose State has never won a game against the Aztecs in San Diego, where SDSU holds an 8-0-2 record against the Spartans, including a 3-0 victory last year on the Sports Deck. Leitch scored the opener and eventual game winner and was joined in the scoring column by Rachel Speros and Dominique Tucker.

The final three games of the regular season, all on the road, are at UNLV (Saturday, April 3), Boise State (Friday, April, 9) and Nevada (Sunday, April 11). The last time the Aztecs played at UNLV, in the 2018 season, they came up on the short end of a 0-2 decision and are 6-5-1 all-time at UNLV. In Boise, the Aztecs and Broncos have split six matches, 3-3-0. However, Boise State has taken the last two, including last season's Mountain West championship game 2-0. In the last meeting with the Wolf Pack in Reno, in 2018, SDSU earned a 2-1 win. Laura Fuentes scored in the fourth minute and Weiser picked up the eventual game winner in the 20th minute.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, no fans will be allowed on The Sports Deck for any of the Aztecs games this year.
