Aztecs Jump Back Into The Coaches Poll At No. 23

SAN DIEGO – Following its 74-49 destruction of the Saint Mary's Gaels last Tuesday, the San Diego State men's basketball team returned to the top-25 of the USA Today Coaches Poll ranked at No. 23. The Aztecs totaled 112 points and are the only Mountain West school in the top-25 in this week's poll.
 
The Aztecs (6-1) made their 2020-21 debut at No. 20 in the Coaches Poll on Dec. 14. Today's ranking marks the 80th week overall that San Diego State has been included in the Coaches Poll since the start of the 2010-11 season and is the second week this season, after the Dec. 14 poll.
 
Today's poll ranking, released on Dec. 28, marks the fifth time SDSU has appeared in the Coaches Top 25 on this date.

San Diego State returns to action, in its Mountain West Conference opener against Colorado State, on Saturday, Jan. 2 and Monday, Jan. 4 at Steve Fisher Court at Viejas Arena. Tip for the Jan. 2 game is scheduled for 1 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on CBS. The Jan. 4 game is scheduled for 6 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on FS1.
