SAN DIEGO -- It was another big week for former Aztecs across professional sports.
For the 11th consecutive game, offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill (2013-16) started and played all the offensive snaps for San Francisco. He saw action for the 84 snaps that San Francisco's offense was on the field. The 49ers play at the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday afternoon. Tight end Kahale Warring (2016-18) made his first two NFL catches for Houston on Sunday against the tough Indianapolis defense. Warring started the second quarter with his first catch, gaining nine yards on a third-and-2 situation. In the fourth quarter, Warring made a contested catch for 23 yards to pick up another first down. He was on the field for 12 snaps on offense and six snaps on special teams. The Texans host Cincinnati in Week 16. Running back Rashaad Penny (2014-17) made his 2020 season debut for Seattle, rushing twice for six yards on six snaps in a win over Washington. Seattle hosts the Los Angeles Rams in a pivotal matchup in Week 16. Linebacker Calvin Munson (2013-16) saw action for 13 special teams snaps in Miami's win over New England. The Dolphins travel to Las Vegas to take on the Raiders on Saturday night. Long snapper Aaron Brewer (2008-11) played for nine snaps on special teams in Arizona's win over Philadelphia. The Cardinals host Daniel Brunskill's 49ers on Saturday. Center Keith Ismael (2017-19( was on the field for a pair of snaps on special teams for Washington against Seattle. The Football Team will play Carolina in Week 16.
Luq Barcoo (2018-19) did not play for Jacksonville against Baltimore in Week 15. The Jaguars matchup against the Bears on Sunday. Defensive end Alex Barrett (2013-16) was signed to the practice squad for San Francisco. Fullback Nick Bawden (2014-17) and safety Damontae Kazee (2013-16) are on injured reserve for Detroit and Atlanta.
In the NBA, Kawhi Leonard (2010-11) led the Los Angeles Clippers to a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in their opening night game on Tuesday. Leonard tallied 26 points, two rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Malachi Flynn (2020) and Toronto start their season on Wednesday against New Orleans while Jalen McDaniels (2018-19) and Charlotte start in Cleveland, also on Wednesday. Leonard and the Clippers will look to turn their win into a streak playing Denver on Christmas night.
