SAN DIEGO – San Diego State men's basketball program has announced the start times for its first two games of the season, which are part of a multi-team event being hosted in Viejas Arena over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Aztecs kick off their 2020-21 season on Wednesday, Nov. 25, with a 7:30 p.m. tipoff against UCLA. The game is scheduled to be broadcast on CBS Sports Network with Tom McCarthy (play-by-play) and Steve Lappas (commentary) calling the action.

SDSU's second game, versus UC Irvine on Friday, Nov. 27, will tip off at 4 p.m. on Steve Fisher Court. Broadcast details are still being worked out and will be announced as they are finalized.

In first-team All-Mountain West honoree Matt Mitchell, a senior forward, as well as senior guard Jordan Schakel and junior forward Nathan Mensah, San Diego State welcomes back three returning starters from the 2019-20 Mountain West regular-season championship squad. In all, the Aztecs return seven letterwinners and have brought nine newcomers into the fold, featuring graduate transfer Terrell Gomez who was a two-time All-Big West performer as well as the conference's Freshman of the Year in 2017-18.

In addition, San Diego State has won a conference-record 12 Mountain West championships (regular-season and tournament) and is one of 29 schools to play in seven of the last 10 NCAA Tournaments.

The other two games being played in Viejas over the holiday are UC Irvine vs. Pepperdine on Nov. 25, with tip set for 3:30 p.m., and UCLA vs. Pepperdine on Nov. 27 which is scheduled to start at 12 p.m.
