SAN DIEGO -- It was a new face leading the way for former Aztecs this week.

In the NFL, defensive end Alex Barrett (2013-16) was called up to San Francisco's active roster last week and made his season debut on Sunday against Miami. Barrett made a tackle while playing on 12 snaps on defense and another nine on special teams. Offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill (2013-16) drew another start for the same 49ers, seeing action for all 64 snaps on offense as well as two on special teams. The 49ers take on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night. On the other side, linebacker Calvin Munson (2003-06) was on the field for 11 snaps on special teams in Miami's blowout win. The Dolphins travel to Denver for Week 6. Long snapper Aaron Brewer (2008-11) played eight special teams snaps in Arizona's 30-10 win over the New York Jets. The Cardinals will play in Dallas on Monday night.

Cornerback Luq Barcoo (2018-19) and Keith Ismael (2017-19), meanwhile, did not play in losses for Jacksonville and Washington, respectively. Offensive tackle Ryan Pope (2016-18) is on the practice squad for Green Bay. On the PGA Tour in the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas, Scott Piercy (1999-01) tied for ninth at 16-under par, while J.J. Spaun (2009-12) missed the cut. Xander Schauffele (2013-15) will return to action this weekend for the CJ Cup at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas.
