SAN DIEGO – Helen Bauer and Hannah Broadland were recognized as San Diego State's Pocock All-American nominees the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced.

Both Bauer and Broadland competed with the Aztecs' first varsity boat in all three competitions in 2019-20 and helped SDSU's V8+ finish just 1.8 seconds behind No. 20 UCLA in their final race of the season.

Bauer, a sophomore from Seattle, Wash., was selected to the All-AAC Second-Team and All-WIRA First-Team in 2019. Broadland, a coxswain from Sacramento, Calif., is a two-time All-AAC First-Team selection and was named to the All-WIRA First-Team last season. Broadland has been invited to the USRowing U23 National's Team Selection camp each of the past two summers.

The absence of competitive results or a national championship due to the COVID-19 pandemic preclude awarding 1st and 2nd Team All-America Awards for the 2020 season. However, the coaches of the CRCA still wanted to find a way to recognize the top performers in NCAA women's rowing.

For 2020, Division I and II coaches were allowed to nominate up to four student athletes and one coxswain, and Division III coaches up to two rowers and one coxswain.
